Social Media and Communications VISTA
AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program that gives you the opportunity to make a difference in your life and help strengthen schools and the students, families, and communities they serve by participating in service and volunteer activities. AmeriCorps VISTA Members receive a monthly stipend and have the opportunity to earn an education award in exchange for one year of service.
Safe Passages is a non profit organization committed to disrupting the cycle of poverty by engaging youth and families to build and drive a continuum of services that supports student success and community development. Safe Passages serves over 4,000 children and families annually through our strategies that span the age continuum of birth through young adulthood, including Early Childhood, School Linked Services, Juvenile Justice and Career Pathways. Safe Passages seeks to expand family engagement programs through the implementation of family resource centers located in Oakland’s highest need schools.
The VISTA Member will support the expansion of the agency’s communication strategies by developing a social media campaign to promote Safe Passages’ anti-poverty efforts, including Family Resource Centers located in high need schools. The VISTA Member will develop and implement a strategic plan for disseminating program news, information and success stories via social media including websites, Twitter, Facebook and other real time mediums.
