Overview
Through the AmeriCorps Elev8 Youth Program, Safe Passages recruits over 50 Americorps members annually to serve for a full year at local school sites. The program provides academic tutoring and mentoring to student populations who need extra support.
Who We Serve
The program serves 2,500 students annually in high need schools across Oakland Unified and New Haven Unified school districts.
Our Goals
•Increase academic achievement amongst students K-12
•Develop a cadre of young professionals in the field of education, human services and related fields
•Foster community service efforts in our communities
