Overview

In 2007, Safe Passages became the lead entity for The Atlantic Philanthropies Elev8 Initiative.

In Phase I, Safe Passages leveraged the $15 Million grant from the foundation with another $25 Million from local public systems in Oakland. (2008-2012)

Components include: School based health services, academic supports through extended day learning, family supports, and advocacy.

Who We Serve

2,500 students and their families annually at West Oakland Middle School, Roosevelt Middle School (Lower San Antonio), United for Success (Fruitvale), Coliseum College Preparatory (Havenscourt, East Oakland), and Madison Middle School (East Oakland).

Our Goals

Provide school based health services, extended day academic support, and increase family involvement.
